We had a great weekend with all the local service dogs – and their civilian friends – at Dog Days of Summer and yet we are so excited to gear up for our next event, just a month away! This year’s Teddy Bear Day will be our sixth year of welcoming our bear-y special friends on Saturday, September 7.

In honor of the enduring toy named for President Theodore Roosevelt, Teddy Bear Day in Glendale will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The annual event features make-and-take crafts, special treats and exclusive deals in Historic Downtown Glendale. Attendees are encouraged to start their day at the Glendale Visitor Center, 5800 W. Glenn Drive, Suite 140, where they can pick up a map of participating Teddy Bear Day merchants, coupons and a Promo Pack for the first 300 attendees. At the Visitor Center, participants can also take a spin on the prize wheel, and they can donate a brand new teddy bear.

Donated bears will be provided to the Glendale Fire Department Trauma Teddy Program, the Glendale Crisis Response Team and United Way to comfort young children who have been affected by a traumatic event. In past years, hundreds of teddy bears have been collected at the one-day event.

Feel free to check out our official website for more news as the event gets closer, or you can call the Visitor Center at 623-930-4500.
